Welcome to the Australian Industry Group International Student Industry Engagement Program — a unique initiative designed to strengthen connections between Australian businesses and Chinese international students from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan who are currently studying in Australia.

This program offers a dynamic blend of practical learning, cultural exchange, business networking, and industry visits - creating meaningful opportunities for mutual understanding and collaboration.

Through these experiences, we aim to cultivate lasting relationships and deepen ties between Australia and the dynamic regions of mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

 

About the Program

Through the program, we aim to:  

• Deepen Australia's engagement with international students from mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan through dialogue, networking, and immersive experiences that enhance language skills and cultural understanding.

• Support Australian industries in building meaningful connections with markets in mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan - fostering economic growth, innovation, and long-term collaboration.

• Enhance Chinese international students' understanding of contemporary, multicultural Australia by connecting emerging leaders to Australian society, institutions and industries.

• Highlight Australia's excellence across key sectors including culture, sports, education, academia, innovation, science, health, aviation and tourism.

 

What you will gain 

Eligible Chinese international students will have the opportunity to take part in industry visits and tours across capital cities and regional centres in Australia.

They may be offered short-term internships and placements with prospective Australian host organisations.

Regular networking events will connect students with Australian business leaders, industry experts and alumni.

A series of online events and in-person workshops around the country will cover topics such as:

• Australian business and workplace environment

• First Nations culture, diversity and multiculturalism; 

• industry-specific insights and 

• sustainability.
