Mick is a seasoned OHS professional with nearly three decades of experience in the construction sector.  Mick's passionate and proactive approach has enabled him to build strong, trusted relationships at all levels, from executives and directors to senior managers, consultants, industry specialists, and operational staff.

Mick has been instrumental in helping numerous commercial and residential construction companies achieve certifications to Australian Standards, the Victorian-based Construction Supplier Register, and accreditation with the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner (“OFSC”).

Mick's dedication to health and safety is deeply rooted in personal experience.  After losing his father to Mesothelioma at the age of 51, Mick was inspired to make a positive and impactful difference in the workplace.  Even at the young age of 12, Mick knew he wanted to help others avoid the devastating effects of such diseases. This tragic event fuelled his commitment to ensure others do not have to endure the same heartache and has provided him with a mission to create safer work environments.

Mick is committed to transforming workplace safety culture through open communication, collaboration, trust, dignity, and respect.  Believing in the power of mindful listening, mentoring, and educating, Mick’s focus is to foster a positive culture that prioritises mental and physical health and wellbeing.

Mick's expertise spans across various industries, including construction, manufacturing, warehousing, ballistics, agriculture, and Industrial.    With a diverse range of industry experience, Mick assists organisations in a variety of areas, including:

  • Construction Experience: With extensive exposure in both residential and commercial/industrial construction he can seamlessly work in any construction business to assist PCBU’s to manage sub-contractors and critical risks.
  • Accreditation Readiness: Prepares builders for OFSC accreditation which allows the business to demonstrate its commitment to high safety standards, enhancing the builder's reputation.
  • Safety Systems: Develops, implements, manages and simplifies safety management systems to ensure they work effectively within business.
  • Strategic Planning: Provides expertise to large multi-site organisations to direct attention and risk control measures to critical risks.
  • Risk Management: Proficient in hazard management and risk mitigation to protect workers and minimise downtime.
  • Ergonomics: Skilled in developing and delivering manual handling and ergonomic programs to improve worker comfort and productivity.
  • Gap Analysis: Conducts thorough analyses of existing management systems to identify gaps and enhance overall safety and compliance.
  • Workers’ Compensation: Manages workers compensation and return-to-work processes to support injured workers return to the workplace safely while reducing overall premium costs.
  • Mentoring and Coaching: Guides others in safety practices and processes to empower employees to take ownership of their wellbeing.
  • Training Programs: Develops and facilitates WHS supervisor/manager training to ensure they enforce safety standards and lead by example.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigates accidents and incidents to identify root causes and prevent recurrence and improve safety protocols.

Mick’s driving force comes with a passion to train and mentor young and new workers in the construction industry and for all to be free from injury or disease.
